Activity:
1. Study this map.



2. Using Microsoft WORD, write five relationships from the map.
Example: The Norway Lake is to the right of the West Twin Lake.
3. Underline the prepositions in your sentences.
4. Make sure to number your sentences.

INTERJECTIONS




Activity: (You will do this activity with a partner.)
1. Think of a situation where you and a partner might be making something. You could be cooking a meal, doing yard work, or some other activity.
2. Use Microsoft WORD to write a short scene that you and a partner can perform. Use at least four interjections in your skit. (Make sure to put your name and "Interjections Activity" at the top of your document.)
3. Print two copies so both you and your partner can put them into your "Virtual Field Trip Booklet."
4. Present your skit to your classmates. Have your audience identify the interjections.

Activity:
Where can you find lots of action words? In the sports pages, course! Here's your assignment:

1. Visit
Sports Illustrated for Kids, The Desert Trail, or The Hi-Desert Star.

2. Read one or two interesting sports articles.

3. Find at least 15 unique
verbs and write them down on a sheet of paper.

4. Do you remember that a thesaurus will help you find words that have similar meanings? Well, use the
thesaurus on-line (or a traditional thesaurus) to find an alternative word for each of your verbs. Write them down, too.

5. Use Microsoft Word to list the 15 verbs and a synonym for each.
EX: walk = trod

6. Make sure that your name and "Verbs Activity" are centered at the top of your paper.

7. Print your work to add to your "Virtual Field Trip Booklet."

PRONOUNS



A pronoun is a word that takes the place of a noun.
